Brad Lane, Producer

The original idea to create Stripes of the Tiger came to producer Brad Lane all the way back in the fall of 2012. “I was watching a lot of football documentaries like ESPN 30/30 and the NFL Network’s Football Life and realized that we had quite a tale to tell of our own about Pacific’s football legacy,” recalls Lane.

Lane played defensive back at Pacific earning three letters from 1981 to 1983. During his time at UOP, six assistant coaches (including Pete Carroll), went on to the NFL. This was the catalyst of inspiration to produce the film.

Lane worked as an independent producer for WHDT World Television Service in West Palm Beach, Florida, producing a variety of programming including world news, travel, yacht restoration, vintage automobiles, and firearm safety.  A seasoned marketing executive with over 35 years of experience, Lane has spent over a dozen years in television/video production.

Lane created Tardy Tiger Productions to preserve and celebrate the remarkable legacy of football at Pacific — a small program that quietly produced some of the most influential coaches and players in the game… to this day, despite the program being dropped in 1995. This documentary is a tribute to the grit, mentorship, and deep-rooted culture that defined Pacific football, capturing stories that would otherwise be lost to time. By documenting the voices of those who lived it, the series ensures that the program’s contributions to football history — and the personal growth it sparked in so many lives — are honored, remembered, and shared with future generations. To date 55 interviews have been conducted with many more in the que to round out this 8-part documentary. If you would like to share your memories or donate please send us a message: Contact Us. Go Tigers!

Marvin Washington – Associate Producer

Marvin Washington joins the Stripes of the Tiger team as Associate Producer. Marvin is best known for being an imposing Defensive Lineman that struck fear into NFL quarterbacks for 11 seasons.    Drafted by the New York Jets in 1989, Washington was coached by former Tiger’s including Bruce Coslet, Pete Carroll, Greg Robinson and Walt Harris. Added to the mix were Tiger coaching alumni Ed Donatell and Brad Seely.

“I had these guys coaching me with the Jet’s, they would talk story at practice all the time about Pacific and you could really see how much they loved the place and you could feel how special of a place it was, or must have been, most certainly that is how they all felt about it,”  said Washington.  “Greg Robinson taught me that first year in the NFL all I knew about D-line play, he was a great coach,” Washington went on to say.

Marvin played 9 seasons for the Jets and is a Super Bowl XXXIII champion with the Broncos, he played out his career in 1999 with the 49’ers. Washington is a graduate from the University of Idaho, he is a private businessman, entrepreneur and an advocate for CTE/Concussion treatment and prevention.
